The Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation’s mission is to follow through with the late Jack Oakie’s wish, “Give the money to the kids,” by underwriting awards and lectures on comedy for deserving film students at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. Mrs. Oakie instructed the trustees of the Foundation to keep her husband’s legacy alive by reinforcing the value of visual and performing arts education.

There are four student awards available in 2014, each at the amount of $2500:

1. The Jack Oakie Memorial Award for Excellence in Comedy Screenwriting

2. The Jack Oakie Memorial Award for Excellence in Directing a Film Comedy

3. The Jack Oakie “It’s All in Fun” Award for Excellence in Comedic Arts
