A: Please visit Active.com to sign up! Online registration closes September 30 at 12 noon. You can register at Packet Pick-Up October 2 and 3 for $45.


Q: What is a Virtual Chapman Global Citizen Runner?

A: Not a morning person? Out of town on race day? Still want to receive a commemorative Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K Run/Walk t-shirt? Now you can register as a Chapman Global Virtual Citizen/Runner and you’ll receive your t-shirt within 6 weeks after the October 3, 2015 race day. All proceeds support the Chapman Alumni Student Scholarship Fund. Register here at anytime up until race day.


Q: What time is the race?

A: The race begins at 7:30 a.m.


Q: What other activities are happening on Saturday, October 3?

A: The Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K Run/Walk is part of the Chapman Family Homecoming Celebration. The day will be filled with activities for Alumni, students, faculty, staff, families and friends of the university. Highlights include the Annual Chili Cook-Off and the Homecoming Football Game. Q: Is there an age requirement?

A: No, the 5K is open to all ages.


Q: Is the race certified?

A: Yes, this 5K is certified by USA Track & Field.  Times and can be used to qualify for other races.

Q: When and where is packet pick-up?

A: Please be sure to print out the race waiver, sign it and bring it with you to pack pick-up.  If you are under 18 years old, please be sure to have a parent signature.  Chapman 5K Race Waiver 2015

Q: Can someone else pick up my race packet?

A: Yes, you may send someone else to pick up your race packet.  They need to know your name and provide a signed copy of your race waiver. Download the Chapman 5K Race Waiver 2015


Q: When should I arrive at the start?

A: Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start.


Q: Where do I park on race day?

A: Parking is complimentary.  Please use the Fred L. Barrera Parking Structure or the Lastinger Parking Structure.  A detailed campus map and directions may be found at Chapman University Maps & Parking page.

From the NORTH:

  •  Take 5 Freeway SOUTH
  • Exit onto 22 Freeway EAST
  • 22 Freeway EAST to Glassell St. Exit
  • Exit on Glassell St., turn North (left off the freeway exit ramp)
  • Take Glassell St. North to West La Veta Ave.
  • Turn LEFT on West La Veta Ave.
  • Turn RIGHT on South Lemon St.
  • Take South Lemon St. 6 blocks
  • Enter the Fred L. Barrera Parking Structure on (RIGHT)

From the SOUTH:

  • Take 5 Freeway NORTH
  • Exit onto 55 Freeway NORTH
  • Take 55 Freeway NORTH to Chapman Avenue Orange
  • Turn WEST on Chapman Avenue (right off the freeway exit ramp)
  • Take Chapman Avenue WEST to North Tustin Street
  • Turn RIGHT on North Tustin Street
  • Turn LEFT on East Walnut Avenue
  • Enter the Lastinger Parking Structure on (LEFT)


Q: Where can I store my personal items?

A: It is recommended that personal items be left at home or in your vehicle. Lockers are available below the Hutton Sports Complex in the Men’s and Women’s Locker rooms. Runners must bring their own lock to secure items.

Q: How can I become a volunteer?

A: Click on the volunteer link review the available positions, compete and submit the form.  Volunteers will receive a confirmation email at least two weeks before the events.  If you are part of a club, association or have a large group of volunteers please contact 5K@chapman.edu.


Q: Is my registration fee refundable?

A: Registration fees and all associated costs are non-refundable.


Q: Is there food available at the finish?

A: Yes, food is available for participants at the Expo Village.  Please join us for the Breakfast of Champions located in the Attallah Piazza.  The Expo Village ends at 10am, however there are many other Chapman University Homecoming activities available afterwards.


Q: Where can I get my results after the race?

A: Synergy Race Timing, the official timing company for the Chapman University 5K will have a tent near the start and finish of the race.  Results will be posted as soon as participants cross the finish line. The 2015 results can be found HERE.


Q: Will race participants have an opportunity to win an award or trophies?

A: Yes, trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each division based upon chip time.  The age groups are 13 and under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.


Please note all race participants will receive a commemorative race medal at the finish line after completing the race.
