As was shared in the Spring All Faculty Meeting on Friday, April 26, I offer you an update on the progress of the project to upgrade/replace our current version of BlackboardLearn.

As a reminder, we are evaluating three LMS possibilities for the future at Chapman: Brightspace, Blackboard Ultra, and Canvas. In the fall semester we began the Needs Assessment with the campus to understand what LMS Requirements existed and to determine the adoption of various tools, both those that are included in the LMS and the third-party/external tools used by our faculty. Then in April we began the formal RFP process where we asked for a formal quote from each of the vendors for how much it will cost to fulfill our requirements.  We expect these quotes to be returned from the vendors by the end of May, and the RFP Committee will then evaluate the vendor responses and develop a recommendation for which product best suits the needs of our campus. By mid-June our CIO, Helen Norris, will make the final selection based on the input from the RFP Committee and from campus leadership.

As always, if you have questions about this process please feel free to reach out to the Educational Technology Services Team at edutech@chapman.edu or drop by the Tech Hub, Demille 104.
