This will copy calendar items from the past which you likely don\u2019t want in your new course.<\/li>\n<li>Do not copy things more than once into the same course. If you copy the same item into the same course more than once, the item you previously copied <strong>will be overwritten<\/strong>\u00a0with the newly copied item.<\/li>\n<li>Consider using the <strong>Adjust events and due dates<\/strong> feature to shift or remove due dates.<\/li>\n<li>Do not copy <strong>Course Settings<\/strong> if you were using missing\/late submission policies in your past course.\u00a0 This will copy the Gradebook settings to your new course, and you risk ending up with a Gradebook full of 0s immediately after the course copy.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off any missing\/late submission policies in your new course before importing assignments from a past course.\u00a0 To do this, click on <strong>Grades<\/strong> in the course navigation menu to open the Gradebook.\u00a0 Click the gear\/<strong>Settings<\/strong> icon in the upper right corner.\u00a0 Select the <strong>Late Policies<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Once your course copy is complete<\/h2>\n<h3>&#x2705; Use the link validator<\/h3>\n<p>Did you know that there is a tool you can use to check your Canvas course for broken links?\u00a0 Learn how to find and use the link validator in this Canvas guide:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-validate-links-in-a-course\/ta-p\/1001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How do I validate links in a course?<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>&#x2705; Update due dates<\/h3>\n<p>You will need to check and adjust the due dates and availability dates for assignments, quizzes, graded discussions, etc.\u00a0 Did you know that there is a way to do this all on one page rather than editing each individual item?\u00a0 Learn how in this Canvas guide:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-bulk-update-due-dates-and-availability-dates-as-an\/ta-p\/1195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How do I bulk update due dates and availability dates as an instructor?<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#x26a0; Recreate items that don&#8217;t copy well<\/h3>\n<p>Some items don&#8217;t copy or don&#8217;t copy well and need to be recreated in the new course.\u00a0 Some examples are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turnitin assignments<\/li>\n<li>Third-party integrations (publisher tools, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Zoom meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>&#x2705; Did you use YuJa Quizzes?<\/h3>\n<p>If YuJa Video Quiz was embedded with <em>External Tool<\/em> in Canvas please review <a href=\"https:\/\/support.yuja.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/1500000414122\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embedding a video quiz after Canvas Course Copy<\/a>\u00a0for instructions on re-embedding content.<\/p>\n<h3>&#x2705;
