Now Have Access to New Analytics in Canvas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Chapman Students and Instructors,<\/p>\n<p>We wanted to share the exciting news that students now have access to New Analytics in Canvas.<\/p>\n<h3>What is New Analytics?<\/h3>\n<p>New Analytics is a tool in Canvas that provides interactive data visualizations to help students and instructors track course grades, activity, and communication.<\/p>\n<h3>How can students access New Analytics in Canvas?<\/h3>\n<p>Students can access New Analytics from inside their Canvas courses by clicking on the <strong>New Analytics<\/strong> button on the course home page.<\/p>\n<p>If they would like, instructors can also add <strong>New Analytics<\/strong> to the course navigation menu by following <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-manage-Course-Navigation-links\/ta-p\/1020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">these instructions<\/a>.\u00a0 This will give students two different ways to access New Analytics if they are using a web browser and will make New Analytics accessible to students using the Canvas Student mobile app.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/academics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2025\/02\/89ab1566-5867-42eb-a852-c8d145f029df.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7565\"><img loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>What kinds of analytics are available?<\/h3>\n<p>In New Analytics, students can access several types of analytics to help them track their progress and engagement in a course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Course Grades<\/strong>: Students can view their grades for all assignments, quizzes, and discussions in an interactive chart or table format.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weekly Online Activity<\/strong>: This feature shows students their total page views and participation activities, such as posts in discussions or submissions of assignments, on a weekly basis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication<\/strong>: Students can track their communication with instructors and peers through the Canvas Inbox feature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>For instructors, the New Analytics tool displays data about all students enrolled in the course.\u00a0 <strong>Students who access New Analytics can only view their own
