The program will be recorded live in conjunction with <em>The How &amp; The Why: Documenting the Creative Process and the Creative Purpose<\/em>, a Black Hill Press podcast hosted by Jon-Barrett Ingels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The New Writer: An Author\u2019s Responsibility in the 21st Century<\/strong><br \/>\nMonday, April 14, 2014<br \/>\n4 &#8211; 6 p.m.<br \/>\nDoy and Dee Henley Reading Room,\u00a0Leatherby Libraries, Second Floor,\u00a0Chapman University<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/alumni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2014\/03\/bhp-author-panel1.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2577\">View the event flyer \u00bb\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/alumni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2014\/03\/bhp-author-panel1.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2577\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">In this age where new styles of publishing are emerging at rapid rates and social media has become an essential piece of marketing, it is important for the new author to know how to navigate these waters. In this panel, the speakers will offer insight into how to build a presence as an author and how to dialogue with audiences once a book has been published. In addition, they will discuss the role of the author in a technology-fueled world.<\/p>\n<p>This event also celebrates the release of <em>Miyuki<\/em> by Veronica Bane and<em> Spelled<\/em> by Kate St. Clair. The authors will be signing artist editions of their novellas following the discussion.
