It is our pleasure to introduce you to your new president of the Chapman University Alumni Association,
\nAkin Ceylan ’90<\/strong>
\n. Akin follows in the footsteps of
\nJames E. Blalock (JD ’09), who served as president for the past three years<\/a>
\n. Akin graduated from Chapman in 1990 with a B.S.\/B.A. in management and is the COO of home entertainment and global content delivery at Lionsgate. He serves on the Chapman University Board of Trustees and is also a current Chapman parent; his daughter Paige Ceylan ’17 is a senior majoring in communication studies. Though he just began his tenure as president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, Akin has already
\ndemonstrated his commitment to Thinking Chapman First <\/a>
\nin many ways, including hosting the recent 4th Annual Alumni Entertainment Industry Mixer.
\n
\nIn his role as president, Akin plans to place an emphasis on alumni engagement, expanding career and industry support to alumni, and finding additional benefits to provide to the Chapman University alumni network.
\n
\n“Having been in the role of president-elect for the last year, I am blessed and grateful to be stepping into a role where my predecessor, Jimmy Blalock (JD ’09), has cultivated a foundation of alumni engagement through his tireless effort and selfless passion in the last several years” said Akin. “Our Chapman Family is stronger and full of pride because of his efforts and the team he has assembled along with the increasing support of the University.”
