Corner: Scott Laverty"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>How long have you been working at Chapman \/ how did you get here?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This is my 8<sup>th<\/sup> year at Chapman.\u00a0 I came to Chapman after 14 years at conference foe University of Redlands.\u00a0 The opportunity to join Chapman and the incredible baseball tradition was one that I could not pass up.\u00a0 Before Redlands, I was an assistant coach at my alma mater UC Riverside for 3 seasons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What\u2019s your favorite story from working at Chapman?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There are so many stories in such a short time.\u00a0 First, the way my first Chapman team in 2014 embraced me right away on route to a 30 win season.\u00a0 Next, just watching the success of all of our athletic teams over the 8 years with pretty much every sport competing year in and year out for tournament spots and conference titles.\u00a0 Finally, the 2019 year in general with us winning the National Championship and then watching football on its incredible run in the fall of 2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What\u2019s the best part about working with student-athletes at Chapman?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapman student-athletes are incredible.\u00a0 The academic rigors continue to increase every year along with the strong work ethic and desire of all teams to have successful seasons.\u00a0 It is amazing to watch the comradery of all the student-athletes on campus and the support they give one another during their individual seasons.\u00a0 There is definitely a pride in Athletics at Chapman.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is the best moment from your eight years of coaching at Chapman?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Winning the 2019 National Championship was incredible.\u00a0 To finish as the last team standing is something all athletes strive for.\u00a0 I believe that there were a lot of other important moments that got us there in 2019 and one of those was definitely the signing day in April 2016 when we partnered with Team Impact and signed Carter Ankeny as a member of our team.\u00a0 The sheer joy that Carter brought to our practices changed the lives of all of our players and in fact, all who got to interact with him, forever!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Anything else you want to say to alumni?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Thank you to all of our alum who continue to support Chapman especially with your successes after Graduation!\u00a0 Chapman\u2019s reputation and impact continues to grow because our esteemed alumni have taken all the great things you learned at Chapman and
