LIFE AT CHAPMAN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When you\u2019re not working or going to school, what do you like to do for fun?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love golfing. I usually go at least once a week. I love to fish too, especially in the summer when the weather is warm.<\/p>\n

What advice do you have for students looking to maximize their success while at Chapman University?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I strongly recommend that students take advantage of what Chapman University offers. There will be a time that you realize that you can\u2019t do it all yourself. There is strength in collaboration.<\/p>\n

I researched what Chapman had to offer and discovered some amazing programs in place that are free to students. Because I pursued them and got involved, I\u2019ve met amazing people that would not have otherwise come to know.<\/p>\n

In my graduate studies, I\u2019ve been working with the Argyros School Career Center<\/a> to help elevate my career for when I graduate with my MBA.<\/p>\n

As an undergraduate student, I participated in Playbook for Life, a program that prepares students to be leaders outside of their sports and have an immediate impact on their chosen profession. I matured a lot in that program because you\u2019re talking directly to company executives and you have to bring your \u201cA\u201d Game.<\/p>\n

Also, I really enjoyed creating and implementing the Chapman Special Games<\/a> program as a member of the Chapman football team. Chapman Special Games brings together the football team and a large group of disabled children from the surrounding area to play sports and have fun on the field. This is so special to me because of the impact it had on the football team and the community.<\/p>\n

What has been your favorite part of your experience at Chapman?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My favorite part of my Chapman experience was being a part of the football team. When I came in as a freshman for my undergraduate degrees, I already knew over 80 students, which made the transition so much easier. But more than that, you already know people who have the same goals and mentality as you.<\/p>\n

Prior to coming to Chapman, I had two Division I offers on the table. I give so much credit to Coach Owens. When I came to Chapman and met him, what he said to me was so powerful. Coach Owens said, \u201cI will coach you to be the next CEO, top lawyer, or president. I want to train you to be the best in your field.\u201d That was it for me. His energy and motivation paved the way for my experience at Chapman.<\/p>\n

My goals at Chapman were to be successful in academics, grow as a leader, and enjoy sports. I\u2019m lucky to have been able to do it all.<\/p>\n

AFTER CHAPMAN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You\u2019ve been so involved at Chapman. In what ways do you feel like that has helped? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Getting involved at Chapman University allows you to take pride and ownership in your membership. You\u2019re not just a student. You\u2019re a student at Chapman University. Being a part of something bigger than you allows you to appreciate the university and the experiences that you\u2019ve had.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve done your homework, you know that there are a lot of great universities within 100 miles of Chapman. But the Panther Pride, the intensive curriculum, and the amazing connections in life and career are unmatched. Pride and ownership goes hand-in-hand with getting involved at Chapman.<\/p>\n

What are your career plans?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My mindset is to go into every opportunity to make a positive impact. I\u2019ve had a number of internships and jobs during my time at Chapman and I have brought leadership, hard work, and strategic thinking to all of them.<\/p>\n

First, I\u2019m excited to finish the MBA program. After that, I\u2019ll be looking to use my well-rounded knowledge and experiences to positively impact an organization. I have plans, but I can\u2019t give away all of my secrets yet.<\/p>\n

What career advice do you have for other students, or anyone, looking for an internship or a job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would say this: Be patient. It is easy to get stuck comparing your successes or career pathways to the people around you. Trust that your route might be different and that is okay. Have ambition, but be patient with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
