Thomas conducts research in industrial organization, antitrust policy, and microeconomic theory.\u00a0 He has held faculty positions at Clemson University and the University of Rochester\u2019s Simon School of Business.\u00a0 After earning his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University, he worked for six years as an economist for the Federal Trade Commission, where for antitrust investigations and litigation he provided economic analyses of competition in several industries.\u00a0 During his time at the FTC he held appointments as the Special Assistant to the Director of the FTC&#8217;s Bureau of Economics, and as a visiting research fellow at Harvard Law School.<\/p>\n<p><a
