\"\"For Anish Bajaj, Chapman University was more than just an institution\u2014it was a place of discovery, growth, and lifelong memories. He graduated in December 2021 with a major in Business Administration (Marketing emphasis) and a double minor in Psychology and Economics, finding Chapman to be the ideal environment to shape his future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“To me, Chapman was nothing short of the college experience I could\u2019ve hoped for,” he reflects. “It was a place I was able to discover myself, my passions, and create a path forward for myself. I made friends and memories that\u2019ll be with me for the rest of my life, so there\u2019s not much more I could\u2019ve asked for!”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Career at Google: From Marketing to Sales<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Currently, Anish serves as a Senior Account Manager in the Mid-Market division at Google, where he manages 20 clients, including notable brands like United Airlines and Patagonia, helping them drive revenue through Google Ads. His transition into this sales-oriented role was a natural evolution, given his marketing background, sales internships, and passion for working with people.<\/span> \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

“With my marketing background, sales internships, and love of working with people, I was able to transition into this field after graduation,” he shares. His journey demonstrates how a strong foundation in business, coupled with hands-on experience, can lead to exciting opportunities in major tech companies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Impact of Chapman\u2019s Argyros College<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Anish credits Chapman\u2019s Argyros College of Business and Economics for preparing him for post-grad success. The rigorous curriculum, including challenging courses like Finance and Accounting, pushed him to develop critical skills. Additionally, Chapman\u2019s Career Center played a pivotal role in his professional journey, helping him refine his resume and secure an internship at Amazon during his junior year summer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"“Argyros did a ton to help me prepare for my career. It helped me learn about the variety of career types that can come out of a business degree, as well as constantly challenged me through some of its most rigorous courses,” he explains.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"His internships, spanning different industries and company sizes, were instrumental in shaping his career path. “My internship at Amazon showed me how amazing it felt to be given authority to run my own project; but also showed me that I\u2019m not meant for a research-based job, but more of a people-facing role.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leadership and Campus Involvement<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Beyond academics, Anish embraced leadership opportunities at Chapman, serving as President of the Environmental Club, President of Chapman Ambassadors, and a founding member of the South Asian Student Association. These experiences reinforced his belief that education extends beyond the classroom.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“At Chapman, I learned that in the right setting, you should be encouraged to explore any and every passion that you have,” he says. His involvement in extracurricular activities also influenced his decision to work at Google, where he participates in mentorship programs and employee resource groups (ERGs) that allow him to continue making an impact beyond his core role.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lessons, Challenges, and Advice for Future Students<\/span><\/b> \"\"<\/span><\/h3>\n

He recalls struggling with Finance exams during his junior year and feeling uncertain about how to improve. The turning point came when he sought help from his professor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I remember calling my mom and asking her what I should do, and the first thing she said was, \u2018Well, did you ask your professor what you should do, or for help?\u2019” he shares. “That one-on-one time allowed for deeper explanations and a lot more success on that next exam. Moral of the story: you won\u2019t get what you don\u2019t ask for.” \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

For students looking to follow a similar career path, Anish offers this advice: “Every \u2018No\u2019 you receive is just another step closer to a \u2018Yes.\u2019 It\u2019s so easy to be discouraged, but if you hold your head high, things will work out. I\u2019m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, so don\u2019t dwell on one thing too long and keep looking forward!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflecting on his journey, Anish emphasizes the importance of personal growth over comparison. “I spent a lot of time in college comparing myself to other people, while the only person you need to compete with is yourself. The same mindset should be true with so many aspects of life. I focus now on finding a way to make myself better every single day because that\u2019s what truly matters.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
