Congratulations to fall 2019 students who received a scholarship for their semester abroad! The CGE is proud to share the achievements of Chapman students who were awarded competitive scholarships to help fund their semester abroad. <\/p>\n

\"Chapman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Natalie Baron<\/strong> ’21 will be studying in Florence, Italy at Studio Arts College International (SACI)<\/a>. She will be taking classes for her Graphic Design major, including two art history courses, fashion design, and Italian language. SACI granted her a $1,000 scholarship. One goal Natalie has while studying abroad is to visit all the museums in Florence and as many as she can in other Italian cities.<\/p>\n

\"Elena<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elena Guillen <\/strong>’21 will be studying in Seville, Spain on the Spanish Studies Abroad – Integrated Studies<\/a> program. Elena will take a Spanish literature and linguistics courses for credit toward her Spanish major. She was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from Spanish Studies Abroad. Elena’s goal while studying abroad is to become more confident in using her Spanish language skills.<\/p>\n

\"Tanya<\/strong>Tanya Leon<\/strong> ’20 is studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the CEA – Latin American Studies<\/a> program. Tanya is taking classes for her Peace Studies major and Latinx and Latin American Studies minor. She was awarded a prestigious $2,000 Gilman scholarship<\/a>. One goal that she has while studying abroad is to learn about Latin American history and political climate in order to apply it in her future studies and career search.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"StudentPilar Quezada<\/strong> ’21 will be studying abroad on a CEA Seville, Spain<\/a> program. Pilar is taking Spanish and European political science courses for her Political Science major and a teaching English abroad course which offers volunteering and community involvement for her Integrated Educational Studies major. Pilar was awarded funding from the Promising Futures Program<\/a> to use toward airfare as well as a $500 CEA Grant. Pilar’s professional goal is to become an educator through her major of Integrated Educational Studies. Studying abroad will provide her the opportunity to teach English to Spanish students so she can increase their bilingual skills and build upon her teaching experience so she may succeed in her future career as an educator.<\/p>\n
