Roxanne Miller and Maggie GallardoChapman University Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Honor Society Chi Beta Chapter President, Maggie Gallardo, has been selected as the 2015 Jack Rosen International KDP Scholarship recipient.

Maggie, a junior at Chapman, is a rising star and a major in Integrated Educational Studies, with minors in Spanish and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education. She plans to teach elementary school after graduating from Chapman’s new five-year bachelor’s plus Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (MACI) Program.

The Jack Rosen Scholarship is given to only one future elementary educator per year, who is selected based on personal vision as an educator and commitment to making a difference in the general education of children and youth through science, math, or technology.

The MACI program enables future elementary and secondary educators to earn their bachelor’s degree, California teaching credential, and master’s degree in five years of full-time study. With highly competitive admissions and based on a teacher residency model, Chapman MACI students spend the majority of their fifth year as teacher residents in local public schools, learning alongside practicing teachers and Chapman faculty.

Congratulations, Maggie!
