{"id":376,"date":"2024-04-11T18:16:20","date_gmt":"2024-04-11T18:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/cetl\/2024\/04\/11\/leadership-service-opportunities-with-the-cetl\/"},"modified":"2024-04-11T18:16:20","modified_gmt":"2024-04-11T18:16:20","slug":"leadership-service-opportunities-with-the-cetl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/cetl\/2024\/04\/11\/leadership-service-opportunities-with-the-cetl\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership &amp; Service Opportunities with the CETL &#8211; Apply by May 24 to work with us in 2024-2025!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Leadership &amp; Service Opportunities with the <\/strong><strong>Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is recognized as a hub for critical reflection, meaningful dialog, and pedagogical resources to support faculty development, as well as a leader in the advancement of academic excellence and student success on campus.<\/p>\n<p>As you weigh options for <strong>professional leadership <\/strong>and\/or <strong>service to the university<\/strong>, please <u>consider becoming part of the CETL team during the academic year 2024-2025<\/u> as either a Faculty Fellow or a Faculty Associate.<\/p>\n<p>Ways our fellows and associates can support CETL services and projects for the year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in and\/or develop high-quality programs for faculty (e.g., workshops, symposiums, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Curate resources and materials for CETL\u2019s faculty-facing website and newsletter, in print or digital formats (e.g., a 1- to 2-minute video clip of faculty testimonials; just-in-time teaching tips; etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Provide insight into the pedagogical interests, needs, and perspectives of your college\/school.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate school\/college-wide communication of upcoming CETL events.<\/li>\n<li>Advance CETL\u2019s communication and marketing strategies and materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Role Options<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Faculty Fellow<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty Fellows (FFs) are tenure-track (TT) or non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty members who 1) have a passion for teaching and learning, 2) possess pedagogical expertise and\/or demonstrated excellence in teaching, and 3) who have a desire to serve in an educational leadership role at Chapman University. Faculty Fellows <u>receive a stipend<\/u> ($45\/hr.) to work with the Center. The commitment requires service of <strong>3<\/strong><strong> hours per week<\/strong>. Appointments are for one term (12 weeks), with the possibility of extending into a second term (shorter terms are available in the summer and interterm periods).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty Associate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty Associates (FA) are TT or NTT faculty members who have a desire to deepen their pedagogical expertise and support the development of other colleagues. FAs collaborate with CETL staff to develop and deliver just-in-time programs and services. In this <strong>service<\/strong> role, FAs will work approximately <strong>3-4 hours per month<\/strong>. Faculty Associates serve in this capacity for one term (12 weeks), with the possibility of extending to a second term (shorter terms are available in the summer and interterm periods).
