{"id":621,"date":"2026-01-29T23:23:52","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T23:23:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/cetl\/2026\/01\/29\/leadership-service-opportunities\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T23:23:52","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T23:23:52","slug":"leadership-service-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/cetl\/2026\/01\/29\/leadership-service-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership &amp; Service Opportunities &#8211; Work with the CETL as a Fellow or Associate this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is recognized as a hub for critical reflection, meaningful dialog, and pedagogical resources to support faculty development, as well as a leader in the advancement of academic excellence and student success on campus.<\/p>\n<p>As you weigh options for <strong>professional leadership <\/strong>and\/or <strong>service to the university<\/strong>, we hope you will consider becoming part of the CETL team during the academic year 2026-2027 as either a Faculty Fellow or a Faculty Associate.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows and Associates will support CETL services and projects in one or more of the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in and\/or develop high-quality programs for faculty (e.g., workshops, symposiums, professional learning communities, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Curate resources and materials for CETL\u2019s faculty-facing website, in print or digital formats.<\/li>\n<li>Provide insight into the pedagogical interests, needs, and perspectives of faculty.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate school\/college-wide communication of upcoming CETL events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"sidequote-right\"><p>&#8220;This experience has helped me to expand the vision of my role within the university community. I hope to be able to continue working on interesting and inspiring topics and to be able to share ideas and projects with other faculty.&#8221; &#8211; Sara Mattavelli, Faculty Fellow (2024-2025)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>Role Options<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Faculty Fellow<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty Fellows are tenure-track (TT) or non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty members who 1) have a passion for teaching and learning, 2) possess pedagogical expertise and\/or demonstrated excellence in teaching, and 3) have a desire to serve in an educational leadership role at Chapman University. Faculty Fellows <u>receive a stipend<\/u> ($75\/hr.) to work with the Center. The role requires commitment of approximately <strong>3<\/strong><strong> hours per week <\/strong>(about 10-12 hours per month). Regular check-ins, reporting on project progress, and participation in monthly CETL meetings will be required. Appointments are for one term (11-12 weeks), with the possibility of extending into a second term.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty Associate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty Associates are TT or NTT faculty members who have a desire to deepen their pedagogical expertise and support the development of other colleagues. Faculty Associates collaborate with CETL staff to develop and deliver just-in-time programs and services. In this <strong>service<\/strong> role, Associates will work approximately <strong>4 hours per month<\/strong>. Participation in monthly CETL meetings and reporting on project progress will be required. Faculty Associates serve in this capacity for one term (11-12 weeks), with the possibility of extending to a second term. Upon completion of the contract, the CETL will provide the faculty associate with a letter acknowledging service to the university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline is May 1, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1.
