While her works are photographs, they reach back to the modernist movement in her finished product. Based in San Francisco, California Charney is represented in galleries in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Charney studied painting at UC Santa Cruz then went on to get her master\u2019s in photography at San Jose State University. With a knowledge of both painting and photography, Charney is able to approach her work in an aesthetic way, knowing what she is looking for.<br \/>\nThe two photographs in Chapman&#8217;s\u00a0Escalette Collection come from the artist\u2019s series \u201cInterior Landscape.\u201d Using moisture on glass, the artist takes close up photographs of water and its natural surroundings.
