Who writes those exhibit labels? What\u00a0does a curator really do?<\/p>\n<p>If so, this is for you!<\/p>\n<p>The Escalette Collection of Art and Chapman&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/arts\/escalette.aspx\">Curatorial Department<\/a> are offering an opportunity for Chapman students to curate two display cases on the second floor of Argyros Forum.<\/p>\n<p>The display will be on view during the spring semester (February 8 \u2013 June 1, 2016), and will be added to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=947177122020171&amp;id=191404830930741\" target=\"_blank\">the current exhibition<\/a>, which creates dialogue between pairs of artworks from\u00a0the collection. Students are invited to submit a short paragraph (100 words max.) comparing two pieces from the 22 available works listed\u00a0below.\u00a0 Submissions must be sent as a Word document to <a href=\"mailto:collections@chapman.edu\">collections@chapman.edu<\/a> by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>midnight on December 20, 2015<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>What to send us<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In your written submission, please include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Artist Name<\/strong>, <strong>Title<\/strong>, and <strong>Date<\/strong> of the two artworks at the top of the document (will not be included in word count).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your one paragraph argument<\/strong>: explain how or why these two works can be connected. Comparisons can be made based on visual qualities, social or historical context, the biographies of the artists, or in other ways that spark your interest. Please be as creative as you like. Outside research is encouraged to establish your comparison. (100 words max.)<\/li>\n<li>Please <strong>write the word count<\/strong> underneath your paragraph.<\/li>\n<li>When emailing your submission, please send <strong>two separate Word documents<\/strong>: one with your name and email address, and one without.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><u>Submissions are due by December 20, 2015 at 12:00 a.m.<\/u><\/em> \u00a0Email submissions to <a
