Click on the links below to explore our current and some of our past exhibitions.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/scalar.chapman.edu\/scalar\/creativity-after-combat\/index\">Creativity After Combat\u00a0<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>February 3 &#8211; August 21, 2020<\/div>\n<div>Henley Galleria, Argyros Forum, Second Floor<\/div>\n<p>This exhibition honors veterans, past and present, and explores the unique ability of visual art to capture aspects of the veteran experience.\u00a0<em>Creativity After Combat<\/em>\u00a0brings together work by well-known World War II veteran artist John Paul Jones, and prints created from the testimonies of veterans recently returned from conflicts around the world. Pino, In the Light You Will Find the Road, Intaglio print, 2012. <br \/>Purchased with funds from the Escalette Collection.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/scalar.cdla.oxycreates.org\/la-frontera\/index\">La Frontera\/The Border: An Interdisciplinary Examination\u00a0<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>May 5 &#8211; November 17, 2019<\/p>\n<p>Various locations on campus<\/p>\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"body_copy\">\n<p>During Fall 2019, Chapman University embarked on a campus-wide interrogation of border issues, particularly those surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border. Drawing from the humanities, social sciences, journalism, law, and visual and performing arts, courses examined borders through interdisciplinary perspectives. A number of public events also encouraged the campus and wider community to examine the controversial issues surrounding borders. Throughout the semester Chapman University Students, Staff, Faculty and visitors were invited to join a book club, tour the art exhibitions, attend lectures, and more. This project culminated in a conference from November 14th-16th that brought leading scholars, artists, and journalists to Chapman University, and offered space for student presentations. This website, powered by Omeka.net (a digital collections open source content management system), expands upon the icons\u2019 current display on the fourth floor of the Leatherby Libraries.
