Art\u00a0critic Christopher Knight of\u00a0<em>The Los Angeles Times\u00a0<\/em>has the perfect words to describe the unique sort of harmony that can be seen underneath the chaos of Reafsnyder&#8217;s abstraction:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Drizzled, dribbled, smeared, scraped, scuffed and slippery swipes of bright, wet, acrylic color engulf the canvases like nontoxic spills. Inevitably, a small arc topped by a couple of little circles emerges somewhere in the boisterous field \u2013Reafsnyder&#8217;s signature take on a smiley face, squeezed directly from the paint tube.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/culturemonster\/2010\/03\/art-review-michael-reafsnyder-at-western-project-.html\">Christopher Knight<\/a>, March 12, 2010<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Indeed, Reafsnyder&#8217;s &#8220;signature take on a smiley face&#8221; can be seen in two of his pieces, <em>Untitled (Mr. OOD)\u00a0<\/em>(pictured above) and\u00a0<i>Floating <\/i>(pictured below), which are currently on display on the fourth floor of Beckman Hall.
