<\/p>\n

Avid blogger and contemporary artist Dennis Hollingsworth fuses abstraction with pop art in his low-relief paintings. Inspired by art and architecture alike, Hollingsworth’s work represents a chaotic, yet harmonious pattern creating depth and balance. A thick application of paint applied directly to the canvas adds a three dimensional, sculptural aspect to his works in oil.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Hollingsworth received his Bachelor of the Arts at California Polytechnic State University in 1985 and later returned to school for a Master of Fine Arts at Claremont Graduate School in 1991.  Born in Spain, the artist splits his time between Los Angeles and his native home. To date, Hollingsworth has shown his work in over 40 solo exhibits and participated in 70 plus group exhibits throughout the world.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Escalette Collection of Art at Chapman University includes four of Dennis’ iconic pieces. The works come from the “Obeja Negra” series, which translates to “Black Sheep” in English.<\/p>\n
