After months of renovation, Reeves Hall is set to reopen on Friday, February 23rd–and we want you, our neighbors, to join us for the ribbon cutting!<\/p>\n

Enhancements to the building include a seismic retrofit and improvements to overall ADA accessibility and safety systems. These developments have not affected the historic integrity of the building, which is listed in the National Registry for Historical Buildings.<\/p>\n

This event will also serve as the formal dedication of the Donna Ford Attallah College of Educational Studies<\/a>, whose faculty, staff, and administration will be housed within the building.<\/p>\n

The celebration will take place beginning at 12:30 p.m. right outside the main entrance of Reeves Hall, located on Memorial Lawn. There will be music, refreshments, and an open house of the new building for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n

About Reeves Hall<\/h3>\n

Completed in 1913, Reeves Hall is a two-story building with a complete basement level and is one of the original buildings of the former Orange Union High School that make up Chapman\u2019s historic core. It was acquired by Chapman in 1954, along with all the other historic properties and named in honor of George Reeves, the University President from 1942 to 1956.<\/p>\n

About Donna Ford Attallah \u201961<\/h3>\n

Donna Ford Attallah, \u201961, an exemplary graduate of Chapman University, taught kindergarten and first grade in the Cypress School District for 40 years, and is today a trustee of the University. Donna and her husband, Fahmy Attallah, created a legacy of support at Chapman.
