When administrators at Fowler heard about the elementary school\u2019s successful fundraiser to build a new STEAM lab on campus, they knew they had to help out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great opportunity for us to help out the educators and students in our local community,\u201d says Andrew Lyon, dean of the engineering school. \u201cWhen students have a chance to work hands-on with equipment like this, it gets them excited about the real, practical possibilities of engineering and science and encourages them to pursue careers in STEM when they get older.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The equipment, which has been thoroughly refurbished by the tech staff at the university, was delivered to Chapman Hills on June 9. In addition, faculty and staff from Fowler Engineering have volunteered their time to teach students how to use the 3D printers, once the new lab is complete and the equipment is
