A generous contribution from former Board of Trustees Chairman Doy Henley will establish the Doy B. Henley School of Management within Chapman University’s Argyros College of Business and Economics. This announcement followed Chapman University’s 2024 State of the University address on February 9.<\/p>\n
Chapman President Daniele C. Struppa expressed gratitude for Henley’s leadership, stating, “Chapman owes much of its success to Doy Henley’s remarkable stewardship on the Board of Trustees.” The occasion, marked by confetti and applause on the Musco Center stage, celebrated Henley’s significant impact on both the university and the business community. President Struppa noted the fitting tribute of naming the school of management after Henley, given his distinguished career and leadership roles.<\/p>\n
This marks Henley’s second major contribution to the Argyros College within the past year. In November, he donated $1 million to establish an endowed fund aimed at fostering innovation initiatives within the college.<\/p>\n
Henley’s professional background includes ownership of Aeromil Aircraft Engineering, a company known for pioneering manufacturing methods in aerospace products, and Cox Hobbies, an early adopter of electronic data for supply chain management. Since joining the Board of Trustees in 1986 and serving as chairman from 2013 to 2015, Henley has been recognized with Chapman University’s highest honors, including the Presidential Medal and the C.C. Chapman Distinguished Service Award.<\/p>\n
Together with his wife, Dee, Henley’s philanthropic efforts have left a lasting impact across the Chapman University campus, with contributions ranging from endowed chairs to library reading rooms and holiday festivities.<\/p>\n
