For the second consecutive year, Chapman University’s Department of Dance has earned honors from, this time recognized as one of the top three collegiate programs in California and top 24 in the nation for 2020–21.

In May 2022, the department anticipates the opening of its new dance facility which will provide students significantly expanded and enhanced space for instruction, training, and rehearsal. At 28,000 square feet — a 90% increase over our existing facility — this state-of-the-art dance center exceeds the National Association of Schools of Dance recommended 100 square feet of space for each student. The center, which can accommodate up to 150 dancers at one time, will provide several new spaces, including four studios, a performance studio, two classrooms, faculty offices, a health clinic and all other necessary amenities of a top dance program.
