After a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/happenings\/2014\/01\/23\/university-singers-surprise-travelers-with-impromptu-performance\/\">successful tour in Texas<\/a> this January, some of our vocal majors and faculty are heading to Boston for three exclusive ensemble performances, June 6-8.\u00a0Performances will include a variety of operatic standards and musical theater selections. The group\u2019s third performance, during the Sunday worship service at Eliot Church in Newton, Mass., will include religious and oratorio selections as well as some secular music.<i> <\/i>All performances are <strong>free and open to the public<\/strong>.<i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>June 6, 2014 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berklee.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA<\/a><\/li>\n<li>June 7, 2014 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/communityhouse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Community House, South Hamilton, MA<\/a><\/li>\n<li>June 8, 2014 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eliotchurch.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eliot Church, UCC of Newton, MA <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Ensemble<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The ensemble will include five vocal performance majors:\u00a0Daniel Shipley \u201915, Alexandra Rupp \u201917, Kevin Gino \u2019 14, Kylena Parks \u201915 and Andrei Bratkovski \u201915. They will be led by Chapman\u2019s Director of Operatic Studies, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/peter-atherton\">Peter Atherton<\/a> and Opera Chapman music director, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/cheryl-fielding\">Cheryl Lin Fielding<\/a>. Dr. Atherton has performed to acclaim with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, L\u2019Orchestra de la Suisse Romande, Basel Chamber Orchestra and many others. Dr. Fielding is a celebrated pianist whose performances have taken her to Japan, Taiwan, Italy and throughout the United States including the \u00a0Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and many others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>A Bright Future<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>In spring 2015, the college will host the grand opening of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/Copa\/center-arts\/index.aspx\">Marybelle and Sebastian P. Musco Center for the Arts<\/a>.
