Meet Camille Roberts! Camille is in her junior year double-majoring in Theatre Technology and Economics with a minor in Honors. She specializes in lighting design for live performance, primarily in dance entertainment. Camille is a dynamic technician within the College of Performing Arts and has designed lighting for a myriad of shows including the Conservatory of Music’s Sweeney Todd<\/em>,\u00a0 and the Department of Dance’s Works in Progress and\u00a0 BFA Dance Showcase. She is currently designing lighting for the Department of Theatre’s productions of The Wolves<\/em><\/a><\/strong> (Mar. 5\u20137 & 10\u201313) and the The Insanity of Mary Girard <\/strong><\/em><\/a>(part of the Student One-Acts Apr. 16\u201318). On campus, Camille has designed lighting for multiple student organization shows like Chapman Dance Alliance (CDA), Kinked<\/em>, Delta Queen<\/em>, and Chaptown Underground. Additionally, she has been involved with Chapman Student Organization Productions (CSOP) since her first year at Chapman and was appointed lighting desinger for its production of Pippin<\/em> this April.<\/p>\n

Last summer, Camille had the opportunity to serve as lighting designer for the critically acclaimed dance company Backhausdance, for its Summer Intensive Show, and assistant lighting designer for a production of Miss America’s Ugly Daughter<\/em> at the Edgemar Center for the Arts, and the ongoing production of Anne, A New Play<\/em> at the Museum of Tolerance.<\/p>\n

Along with her many roles on campus, Camille serves as vice president of the Chapman chapter of United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), and balances her time with work at Chapman’s Entertainment Technology Center as a production studio assistant and at the Chapman Auditorium as a student theatre technician. Camille aspires to work in the entertainment industry as a professional lighting designer for dance either in a live setting or television studio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
