The surprise news, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ChapmanCoPA\/videos\/2586962534780666\/\">renowned choreographer and dancer Dwight Rhoden<\/a> would join the Department of Dance next fall, was met with loud cheers and applause, capping an already breath-taking performance of premieres by guest composers, alumni and faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022\u201323 academic year was already expected to be a milestone for the dance department with the opening of its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/support-chapman\/give\/capital-campaigns\/dance-facility\/index.aspx\">Sandi Simon Center for Dance<\/a>.
