\n will host its annual FRIENDS Who Stutter one-day conference on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9:30am-4:30pm on campus in Orange, California.
\n <\/p>\n

\"Friends:<\/a>
\nThis is a family-oriented, one-day conference designed around individual workshops for children, teens, and adults who stutter. Parents and speech-language pathologists are encouraged to attend. Second-year
\nCommunication Sciences and Disorders<\/a>
\n graduate student, Jessica Beaumont, attended last year’s conference and commented, <\/p>\n

“I enjoyed attending the teen workshop facilitated by Reuben Schuff, an aerospace engineer who loves to juggle and is an adult who stutters. I could see the teens were so enthralled by Reuben’s sword juggling and his story that they were inspired to share their own stories as well.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n


\nThis year’s keynote speakers include Dr. Heather Grossman, PhD., CCC-SLP, BRS-FD, Director of the
\nAmerican Institute for Stuttering<\/a>
\n, a non-profit organization in New York City. Dr. Grossman works with children and adults who stutter and is an active member of the stuttering self-help community for 25 years.
\nLoryn McGill<\/a>
\n, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a Fluency professor at Chapman University who owns a private practice in Orange County. She has dedicated more than 10 years to providing therapy for people who stutter. McGill has presented at numerous conferences including, CSHA, NSA, and the FRIENDS national conference. Nora O’Connor, LCSW, is a licensed social worker and a person who stutters. Her private practice facilitates counseling, individual and group therapy for people who stutter. O’Connor has played an active role in the stuttering self-help movement for over 15 years.
