She has conducted research at the Alzheimer&#8217;s Association in Orange County as well as the Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease and Memory Disorders Center at Rhode Island Hospital. Her post-doctoral work was completed at USC&#8217;s School of Gerontology. Her research focuses on the examination of health in the contexts of age and residential neighborhoods. Using multiple large national data sets, Robinette has investigated whether neighborhood hazards increase the risk for poor health, whether neighborhood resources decrease the risk for poor health and the degree to which peoples\u2019 individual characteristics partially explain or even modify these neighborhood-health associations. Dr. Robinette\u2019s research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Aging. She is the director of the new<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/faculty-student-research.aspx\">Context and Aging Research Lab (CARE)<\/a> at Crean Hall.<\/p>\n<h2>Graduate Health Programs<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3035\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3035\" style=\"width: 236px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/cordia_michael.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3035\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3035\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/cordia_michael.jpg\" alt=\"Mr. Cordia\" width=\"236\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3035\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mike Cordia, MSPAS, PA-C<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Michael Cordia, MPAP, PA-C<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Assistant Clinical Professor of PA Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/michael-cordia\">Professor Cordia<\/a> completed his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Practice at the University of Southern California. Since his graduation from USC, he has worked at LePort Surgical Associates specializing in laparoscopic, bariatric, and robotic surgery. He was a visiting professor at Chapman&#8217;s PA Studies program last year before officially joining the faculty in January. He has been a practicing physical therapist since 1997. Dr. Harper is coming from Radford University, working as core faculty for the last eight years while serving as the chair\/program director for two years. Before academia, he served as a hospital Director of Rehabilitation &amp; Wellness and in senior hospital administration serving as a surgery service line director. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.score-lab.net\/\">SCORE Lab<\/a>. The overarching aim of her research is to gain an understanding of the underlying language and cognitive deficits resulting from stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer\u2019s Disease and Frontotemporal Degeneration, which lead to Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). Dr. Sheppard is the director of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/faculty-student-research.aspx\">Cognition Rehabilitation And Neurolinguistics In Aphasia<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/faculty-student-research.aspx\">Lab (CRANIAL)<\/a> at the Rinker Health Sciences Campus.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3033 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/crean\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2020\/02\/MStone-headshot-2048x2048.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Mayngan Stone, MSPAS, PA-C<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Assistant Professor of PA Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With her 16 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/mayngan-stone\">Professor Stone<\/a> joined the faculty at Chapman University\u2019s Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies Program as a Clinical Assistant Professor in January 2020.\u00a0 Fluent in Vietnamese, she started her physician assistant career serving the Vietnamese community under a Pulmonologist\/Intensivist.\u00a0 Since that first job, Professor Stone has gained experience in many fields of medicine including hematology\/oncology, urgent care, general surgery, and dermatology.
