Anyone in Orange County or the Greater Los Angeles area can get treatment, <em>regardless of what hospital they&#8217;re at or their healthcare insurance<\/em>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/graduate-programs\/ms-communication-sciences-and-disorders\/adult-learning-lab.aspx\"><strong>Neuro-Deficit Clinic for COVID-19 Survivors<\/strong> <\/a>(a.k.a &#8220;Covid Clinic&#8221;) is directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/mary-kennedy\">Mary Kennedy, Ph.D<\/a>. Dr. Kennedy is a professor of speech-language pathology and the CSD program chair at Chapman. She is also the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/faculty-student-research.aspx\">NeuroCognitive Research Lab<\/a> which investigates Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The speech-language pathologists (SLPs) at Chapman are providing support for any of the following after COVID-19:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thinking and remembering affected by fatigue<\/li>\n<li>Trouble speaking<\/li>\n<li>Trouble reading, listening, communicating at work, school, or home<\/li>\n<li>Swallowing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is the difference between our services and those provided through a medical facility?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Our services are <u>free of charge<\/u>, made possible donation from <em>The U.S. Justice Charitable Foundation<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Our SLPs have extensive experience <u>working with the kind of problems that have been seen to persist<\/u> in some COVID-19 survivors.<\/li>\n<li>We can work with individuals who are primarily <u>Spanish-speakers, or bilingual in Spanish and English. <\/u><\/li>\n<li>Services may be <u>in person and via telehealth<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The SLPs at Chapman&#8217;s new Covid Clinic hope to better understand the lingering issues individuals are having so that we can provide appropriate assistance and support.<\/p>\n<p>If you or someone you know is having lingering symptoms, please share this information with them.<\/p>\n<p>Clients, patients, and families can call (714) 744-2132 and leave a voicemail message OR email us at <a href=\"mailto:neurocognitivecommunicationlab@chapman.edu\">neurocognitivecommunicationlab@chapman.edu<\/a>.
