Formerly part of the Schmid College of Science and Technology, the health and behavioral sciences programs will officially split off and become an independent unit- the Crean College- on June 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crean College Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences\u00a0will be led by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/janeen-hill\">Dr. Janeen Hill<\/a>, who has diligently served for the past two years as dean of the Schmid College. Incoming Dean <a title=\"Andrew Lyon - Georgia Tech\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/scst\/2014\/01\/27\/new-dean-andrew-lyon\/\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Lyon,<\/a> who comes to Chapman from the Georgia Institute of Technology, will take the helm of Schmid College July 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crean College Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The disciplines encompassed in the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences will be: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/graduate-programs\/ma-marriage-family\/index.aspx\">marriage &amp; family therapy<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/graduate-programs\/physical-therapy\/index.aspx\">physical therapy<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/undergraduate-programs\/ba-psychology\/index.aspx\">psychology<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/undergraduate-programs\/bs-health-sciences\/index.aspx\">health science<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/post-bacc-program\/index.aspx\">pre-health post-baccalaureate<\/a>\u00a0and our new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/academic-programs\/graduate-programs\/physician-assistant\/index.aspx\">physician\u2019s assistant<\/a> program (opening 2015). The college&#8217;s undergraduate programs and its marriage and family therapy program will remain at Chapman&#8217;s main campus in Orange. The physical therapy and physician&#8217;s assistant programs will be housed in the new 166,000-square-foot <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/support-crean\/health-science-campus.aspx\">Harry and Diane Rinker Health Science Campus<\/a> in Irvine, CA.<\/p>\n<p>Disciplines that will remain in the\u00a0<a title=\"SCST\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/scst\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Schmid College of Science and Technology<\/a>\u00a0are: biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, computational science, environmental science, mathematics, software engineering physics, and food science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growth in the Sciences at Chapman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The creation of the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Science follows in the steps of the university&#8217;s other major announcements about its growth in and emphasis on the sciences. Most recently, the university has announced its new\u00a0<a title=\"School of Pharmacy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/pharmacy\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">School of Pharmacy<\/a>, and the naming of new facilities in Irvine, California, the\u00a0<a title=\"Rinker Campus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/crean\/support-crean\/health-science-campus.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Harry and
