Today, AGBO announced its inaugural filmmaking competition, “No Sleep ‘til Film Fest,” inviting filmmakers to make a short movie in only 48 hours. Part of AGBO’s commitment to championing emerging content creators, the two-day festival challenges participants to make bite-sized films, three minutes or less, while keeping with the latest social distancing guidelines. The virtual festival will be open for submissions from April 16-April 18 with a creative prompt released online April 16th; filmmakers will have 48 hours to create and submit their films based off of the prompt. Winners will be announced May 7th.

The panel of judges include Co-Founders and Chairmen Anthony and Joe Russo, Vice Chairman Mike Larocca, Co-Presidents of Story Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and President of Creative Angela Russo-Otstot. The AGBO executives will select three winning films to premiere across AGBO’s social channels, in addition to receiving prizes and mentorship from the studio.

The top three winners will receive script writing software from Final Draft and will join the AGBO Storytellers Collective, an alumni network of participants from other AGBO fellowship programs. Additionally, the first-place winner will receive camera equipment from RED and a storyboard sketch of their film from storyboard artist Anthony Leonardi. The second-place winner will receive an electric bike from Story Bikes.

“We consider it a privilege to watch the work of tomorrow’s storytellers, especially when crafted with this level of ingenuity and in the spirit of rising to a fun challenge. We can’t wait to see what the filmmakers come up with and we are excited to share their talents via this new platform,” said Angela Russo-Otstot, AGBO’s President of Creative.

AGBO recently produced Apple TV’s Cherry, the Tom Holland-led drama directed by the Russo Brothers and co-written by Angela Russo-Otstot, which was released on Apple TV+. The Company is currently in production on two projects: The Gray Man, an action-thriller produced for Netflix and directed by the Russo Brothers with a stacked cast led by Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans and Citadel an action-packed global event series produced with Amazon Studios starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
