Announced on January 10, 2019
We are now accepting applications for the spring 2019 Marion Knott Distinguished Artist Scholar Program. This semester our talented Distinguished Artist is Castle Rock Entertainment Co-Founder and producer Martin Shafer (Music and Lyrics, Beowulf, Flipped, Before Midnight).
If selected to participate as a Marian Knott Scholar, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Mr. Shafer. Scholars should have a work in progress, either a screenplay, a concept in development, or footage suitable for an episodic form to work on during the semester. Scholars will meet individually with Mr. Shafer for an hour every other Tuesday (between 2 and 7 p.m.). Scholars are also required to enroll in FTV 310/510 (Tuesday, 7 -10 p.m.) with Professor Alex Rose (you do not have to be enrolled in this course to apply. However, if you are selected, you will have to enroll). There will be a required lunch with Mr. Shafer and all of the Scholars at the end of the semester.
Complete the online application form by 11:59 p.m. (PST) on Friday, January 25, 2019.
Selected scholars will be notified by Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
