Dodge College and Focus Features invite you to a free pre-release screening of\u00a0ON THE BASIS OF SEX<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 7 p.m. in Folino Theater<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

About the Film
\n<\/strong>On the Basis of Sex<\/em>\u00a0is inspired by the true story of a young\u00a0Ruth Bader Ginsburg<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 then a struggling attorney and new mother \u2013 who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights throughout her career.<\/p>\n

When Ruth takes on a groundbreaking tax case with her husband, attorney Martin Ginsburg, she knows it could change the direction of her career and the way the courts view gender discrimination. The film also chronicles the storybook-like romance between Ruth and Marty, a partnership that succeeded both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n

Participant Media\u2019s\u00a0On the Basis of Sex<\/em>, in association with Alibaba Pictures and distributed by Focus Features, is directed by\u00a0Mimi Leder<\/a>\u00a0(The Leftovers, Deep Impact<\/em>) from an original screenplay by\u00a0Daniel Stiepleman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the Basis of Sex<\/em>\u00a0stars\u00a0Felicity Jones<\/a>\u00a0(The Theory of Everything, Rogue One: A\u00a0Star Wars Story<\/em>) as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and\u00a0Armie Hammer<\/a>\u00a0(Call Me by Your Name, The Social Network<\/em>) as Marty Ginsburg, Ruth\u2019s husband and legal partner.
