\n\tHere’s your chance to find out how she did it and what it was really like to make a movie about vampires! Catherine Hardwicke<\/span><\/strong><\/a> — director of the wildly popular “Twilight”<\/span><\/strong><\/a> movie — based on the best-selling series by Stephenie Meyer<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t– is one of six women directors who will speak to the public for free about their movies and careers April 17 (Friday) atChapman University<\/span><\/strong><\/a> in Orange, CA. (Scroll to bottom for reservation info!)<\/p>\n

\n\tHardwicke, who also directed “The Nativity Story,” “Lords of Dogtown,” “Thirteen,” will be joined by:<\/p>\n

\n\tMartha Coolidge <\/span><\/strong><\/a>– “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” “Out to Sea,” “Angie,” “Lost in Yonkers,” “Valley Girl”<\/p>\n

\n\tSanaa Hamri<\/span><\/strong><\/a> — “Something New,” “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” “Acceptance.”<\/p>\n

\n\tJocelyn Moorhouse<\/span><\/strong><\/a> — “A Thousand Acres,” “How to Make an American Quilt,” “Proof,” “Pavane”<\/p>\n

\n\tKimberly Peirce <\/span><\/strong><\/a>– “Stop Loss,” “The L Word,” “Boys Don’t Cry,” “The Good Last Breath”<\/p>\n

\n\tPenelope Spheeris<\/span><\/strong><\/a> — “The Little Rascals,” “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “Wayne’s World”<\/p>\n

\n\tThe first session — “Career Paths” — runs from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. The directors will screen clips from their films and talk about what it takes to break into the industry, obstacles they faced.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe second session — “Directing the Vision” — runs from 3 to 4:15 p.m. The discussion will focus on the challenges of directing.<\/p>\n

\n\tAn informal mixer follows at 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
