{"id":2737,"date":"2012-10-22T16:00:11","date_gmt":"2012-10-22T23:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/dodge\/2012\/10\/22\/pre-release-screening-room-237\/"},"modified":"2012-10-22T16:00:11","modified_gmt":"2012-10-22T23:00:11","slug":"pre-release-screening-room-237","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/dodge\/2012\/10\/22\/pre-release-screening-room-237\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us in the Folino on Wednesday, October 24, for a screening of the documentary film, <strong>Room 237<\/strong>, at 7PM.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The film has recently been making waves on the independent film festival circuit, playing at the likes of Sundance, Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes, and the New York Film Festival, among others.\u00a0 The film will not open in theaters until 2013, so we are very excited to offer a preview screening before the majority of audiences will see it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A subjective documentary that explores the numerous theories about the hidden meanings within <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000040\/\">Stanley Kubrick<\/a>&#8216;s film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0081505\/\">The Shining<\/a> (1980). The film may be over 30 years old but it continues to inspire debate, speculation, and mystery. Five very different points of view are illuminated through voice over, film clips, animation and dramatic reenactments.
