Stay tuned for more updates as the adventure unfolds, and the documentarians start shooting!<\/p>\n<p>\n\t-Jared Parmenter (Blog Editor)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Guest Blogger: Christiana Minga, Television &amp; Broadcast Journalism Major (&#039;13)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWe are in Queenstown and are finished with the &quot;trek&quot; portion of our trip!<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=queenstown,+new+zealand+map&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;client=firefox-a&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;hq=&amp;hnear=Queenstown,+Otago,+New+Zealand&amp;gl=us&amp;ll=-45.031162,168.662644&amp;spn=0.082374,0.154324&amp;t=m&amp;z=13&amp;vpsrc=6&amp;source=embed\">View Larger Map<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tI arrived to New Zealand on January 12th with 15 other Chapman film students for the expedition documentary class taught by Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/ftv.chapman.edu\/about\/people\/jeff_swimmer\/\">Jeff Swimmer<\/a>: <\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"298\" src=\"http:\/\/ftv.chapman.edu\/images\/uploads\/blogs\/Expedition New Zealand Group Shot Christiana Minga.jpg\" width=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWe are also accompanied by <a href=\"http:\/\/poolefilms.com\/\">cinematographer Bob Poole<\/a> who specializes in wildlife documentary and often works with National Geographic. The first 4 days after arrival was our trekking portion of the trip. We backpacked, camped and shot through the rain, mud, wind, &amp; snow of the southern alps and pushed ourselves as much as physically possible to reach new heights. <\/p>\n<p>\tWe now are on to the second portion of the trip and have arrived in Queenstown where our main goal is to face fears and experience major adrenaline rushes as we partake in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/travel\/activity\/active\/in-a-state-of-perpetual-motion-20090318-91gs.html\">extreme<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UKfmJBRzzfY&amp;feature=player_embedded#!\">sports<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.watoday.com.au\/travel\/be-an-extreme-sport-in-queenstown-20090629-d269.html\">Queenstown<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queenstownadventure.com\/\">famous<\/a> for.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<h3>\n\tPromotional video from Queensland PR (these are not our students, but these actors look as excited as they are! -Ed.)<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n\tI plan to do the canyon swing, bungee jump, &amp; sky dive. The main theme of my documentary is to <em>step outside of your comfort zone and live life to the fullest<\/em>.
