Please join us on Friday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Folino Theater<\/strong> for a screening of The Red Envelope<\/em>, a short film created by Dodge College students last summer on the Hengdian World Studios backlot in China.<\/p>\n

Fifteen students from Dodge College, including one from Chapman Singapore, embarked on a two-week trip to Hengdian World Studios<\/a> in Hengdian last summer. Students from multiple disciplines – including Film Production, Production Design, and Screen Acting – collaborated on a time-traveling love story written to utilize the resources of the backlot.<\/p>\n

The Red Envelope <\/em>is the result of this undertaking, and it is screening for our viewing enjoyment this Friday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Folino Theater. <\/strong>As part of the program, we will also be screening a short documentary that chronicles the students’ unique experiences making the film.

In our In Production<\/em> magazine, Associate Dean – and trip faculty advisor – Michael Kowalski recently said:<\/p>\n

This is the largest studio backlot in the world so it is a great opportunity for our students to not only learn about Chinese culture but about China’s position as a dominant player in the industry over-all.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
