FTV 389: Cross-Cultural Documentary Singapore – January 12-31<\/b>
\nThis course is designed to give students a practical and theoretical understanding of how the documentary film can be used as a creative medium to explore and represent foreign cultures. The course will travel to Singapore where the students will have the unique opportunity to produce a short documentary about an aspect of the nation\u2019s rich diverse culture.<\/p>\n

FTV 323\/523 & 323S: Transcultural Documentary Filmmaking in San Francisco – January 8-29<\/b>
\nThis interterm we will be offering Trans-Cultural Documentary in partnership with our Singapore campus. 17 Singaporean students will be spending three weeks with us, partnering with American students to make short documentary portrait films about the many fascinating cultural stories of Santa Barbara and San Francisco. We will spend a week in Orange and Santa Barbara pre-producing the documentaries, followed by a week of shooting in San Francisco, and a week of post-production back here in Orange. The course covers the nuts and bolts of documentary pre-production through post-production, and covers how to craft a story that informs about many issues at once and how to work as part of a team. Course dates are Jan 8-29. If interested send an application with your name, year, major, experience with documentary film, and a short paragraph about why you want to to take this course, to Professor Sally Rubin at rubin@chapman.edu<\/a>. FTV 361\/561 section 01: Sundance Film Festival – January 16-21<\/b>
\nThis course, which is worth 3 credits, is taught at Dodge College and then on-location at the internationally-celebrated film festival in Park City, Utah! There are two identical sections of the class being offered this year. 10 students will travel to the first half of the Sundance Film Festival from Jan. 16 \u2013 21 and 10 students will travel there during the second half of the festival from Jan. 21 \u2013 26. There will also be four required days of class time held on campus.
