We are pleased to announce that producer Gary Foster will be our Marion Knott Filmmaker-in-Residence for Spring 2015.
\n
\nA 1983 graduate of the University of Southern California, Foster began his career as a producer in the mid 1980s.  At the age of 25, he produced his first film,
\nShort Circuit<\/em>
\n and the success of the film put the young producer’s career in full swing.  In 1993, Foster produced the Oscar® and Golden Globe-nominated hit
\nSleepless in Seattle<\/em>
\n, which grossed more than $300 million worldwide. From there, Foster’s career continued by producing films such as
\nThe Soloist<\/em>
\n,
\nThe Score<\/em>
\n,
\nDaredevil<\/em>
\n,
\nWhen In Rome<\/em>
\n, and more. He also produced television shows, such as
\nSatisfaction<\/em>
\n and
\nCommunity<\/em>
\n.
\n
\nWe are now accepting applications for the spring 2015 Marion Knott Filmmaker-in-Residence program to work with Foster.
\n <\/p>\n

\n
\n
\nIf selected to participate as a Marion Knott Scholar, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with one of Hollywood’s finest filmmakers.  Scholars should have a work in progress, either a screenplay, a concept in development, or footage suitable for an episodic form to work on during the semester.
\n
\nScholars will meet individually with Mr. Foster for an hour every other Tuesday (between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m). 
\nScholars are also required to enroll in FTV 310\/510 (Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.)<\/strong>
\n with Professor Alex Rose (you do not have to be enrolled in this course to apply. However, if you are selected, you will have to enroll by Friday, February 13). There will be a lunch with Mr. Foster and all of the Scholars at some point during the semester.
\n
