Younis, JD will present:\u00a0<\/b><b>\u201c<i>Gender Justice:\u00a0 Girls\u2019 Education and Women\u2019s Work after the Arab Spring,&#8221;\u00a0<\/i><\/b><b>February 27, 2014 at the <a title=\"Religious Genderings Conference\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/religious-studies\/interdisciplinary-conference.aspx?utm_source=email&amp;utm_medium=marketing%2Bmedium&amp;utm_campaign=query%2Bstring\" target=\"_blank\">Religious Genderings Conference<\/a> \u00a0at the Wallace All Faith Chapel at Chapman University from 10:15 &#8211; 12:15pm \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Chapman tackles the topic of religion as a powerful force in shaping our views of gender.\u00a0 An amazing group of scholars and activists will address a variety of issues at this free event.\u00a0 Chapman\u2019s own Ahmed Younis is one voice promoting this critical dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Ahmed Younis, JD\" href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/ahmed-younis\" target=\"_blank\">Ahmed Younis<\/a> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and PhD student in the <\/span><strong><a title=\"College of Educational Studies\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/ces\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">College of Educational Studies at Chapman University<\/a>.<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u00a0Younis served as a Senior Consultant for the Gallup Organization and Senior Analyst for the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies from 2007 to 2012. In 2009, 2010, and 2011, he was named as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims globally. In 2011 and 2012, Arabian Business Magazine named Ahmed as one of the &#8220;Power 500&#8221; of the Arab world and one of the 500 Most Famous Arabs in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Younis is author of <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><span style=\"color: #888888\"><a title=\"Gender Justice: The Situation of Women and Girls After the Arab Spring \" href=\"http:\/\/hir.harvard.edu\/global-education\/gender-justice\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #888888\"><b><i>Gender Justice: The Situation of Women and Girls After the Arab Spring<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and the author of <\/span><strong><i><a title=\"American Muslims: Voir Dire\" href=\"http:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/661151.American_Muslims\" target=\"_blank\">A<\/a><\/i><\/strong><strong><i><a title=\"American Muslims: Voir Dire\" href=\"http:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/661151.American_Muslims\" target=\"_blank\">merican Muslims: Voir Dire<\/a><\/i><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><i><\/i><i>[Speak the Truth]<\/i><i> <\/i><\/strong>(MVI -2002), a post-Sept. 11 look at the reality of the debate surrounding American Muslims and their country. As part of his Gallup portfolio, from January 2009 to June 2011, Ahmed served as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications for Silatech, a youth employment initiative to promote large-scale job creation in the Middle East and North Africa founded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, first lady of Qatar.
