Hear from two dynamic keynote speakers about how to discover your life\u2019s passion, keep the flame lit and empower others to do the same. A panel of women from different industries will share their personal passions and career advancement advice. People of all ages, genders and backgrounds can choose from six breakout sessions of their choice, led by current leaders in their field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Event information: 8:30 am to 2 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Check in begins at 8 am at Argyros Forum 209ABC on the Chapman University campus, 1 University Dr. Orange CA 92866<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speakers<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3774\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2016\/12\/MyraSmall.jpg\" alt=\"myrasmall\" width=\"114\" height=\"134\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Myra Strober<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Labor economist, author and Professor Emerita at the School of Education at Stanford University<br \/>\n<\/strong>Strober\u2019s research and consulting focus on gender issues in the workplace and work and family in higher education. She is the author of numerous articles on occupational segregation, women in the professions and management, the economics of childcare and feminist economics. Her most recent book is a memoir, Sharing the Work: What My Family and Career Taught Me About Breaking Through (and Holding the Door Open for Others). She was the founding director of the Stanford Center for Research on Women and the first chair of the National Council for Research on Women.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3775\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2016\/12\/SumiSmall.jpg\" alt=\"sumismall\" width=\"114\" height=\"134\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Sumun Pendakur<br \/>\nDirector of Institutional Diversity at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont<br \/>\n<\/strong>Prior to Harvey Mudd College, Pendakur spent more than seven years at the University of Southern California, where she served as the director for Asian Pacific American Student Services. She serves as a consultant, speaker and facilitator regionally and nationally, helping campuses, nonprofits and other organizations build capacity for cultural competence, social justice and equitable practices.
