{"id":4679,"date":"2019-02-08T13:49:27","date_gmt":"2019-02-08T21:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/education\/2019\/02\/08\/dean-recognized-as-national-scholar-and-esteemed-influencer\/"},"modified":"2019-02-08T13:49:27","modified_gmt":"2019-02-08T21:49:27","slug":"dean-recognized-as-national-scholar-and-esteemed-influencer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/2019\/02\/08\/dean-recognized-as-national-scholar-and-esteemed-influencer\/","title":{"rendered":"Dean Recognized as National Scholar and Esteemed Influencer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Margaret Grogan, Ph.D., dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/education\/index.aspx\">Attallah College of Educational Studies<\/a>, has once again been recognized<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">as one of the top 200 scholars and influencers in the field of education.\u00a0Dean Grogan\u2019s inclusion on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edweek.org\/edweek\/rick_hess_straight_up\/2019\/01\/the_2019_rhsu_edu-scholar_public_influence_rankings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0has not wavered for eight years. Those eligible for recognition are US university-based academics who mainly focus on education related issues and tens of thousands apply each year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The RHSU selection committee generates the list using scores from nine categories that amount to a maximum possible score of 200, according to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aei.org\/publication\/the-2019-rhsu-edu-scholar-public-influence-scoring-rubric\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">American Enterprise Institute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Taken into account are each applicant\u2019s Google Scholar Score, book points, highest Amazon ranking, syllabus points, education press mentions, web mentions, newspaper mentions, congressional record mentions, and Kred Score (based on an individual\u2019s Twitter account\u2019s mentions, retweets, and replies, if applicable). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Among the scholars that have been recognized in the 2019 rankings arefaculty affiliated with Stanford University and Harvard University.
