The participating students are part of <a href=\"https:\/\/sccollege.edu\/Departments\/Pathways\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCC\u2019s Pathways to Teaching Program (PTTP)<\/a>, a program designed to promote education to high school and community college students interested in the teaching profession.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5054 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2019\/10\/SCC-PTTP-Instagram-crop.jpg\" alt=\"Santiago Canyon College\u00a0Pathways to Teaching Program Instagram post\" width=\"297\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2019\/10\/SCC-PTTP-Instagram-crop.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2019\/10\/SCC-PTTP-Instagram-crop-193x300.jpg 193w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/>According to Attallah College Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/michelle-samura\">Dr. Michelle Samura<\/a>, the IES program\u2019s newly developed Community College Pathways Initiative is centered on a clear, well-supported pathway from Santiago Canyon College or Santa Ana College into Chapman\u2019s IES program. As part of this initiative, Drs. Michelle Samura, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/education\/2014\/02\/28\/meet-marie-nubia-feliciano-ph-d-student\/\">Marie Nubia-Feliciano<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/kristen-doorn\">Kristen Doorn<\/a> organized a campus visit for SCC students to spend a full day of exploring Chapman\u2019s campus, learn about the IES curriculum, review the transfer admissions process, meet IES faculty and staff, and hear from current and former students about their experiences in the program.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the visit, the IES and SCC students and faculty also enjoyed lunch together in Chapman&#8217;s Randall Dining Commons and concluded their visit with a tour of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/research\/institutes-and-centers\/holocaust-education\/samueli-holocaust-memorial-library.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library<\/a>.
