The rankings identify university-based education scholars who are helping to shape educational practice and policy.<\/p>\n<p>To generate the rankings, the RHSU Selection Committee utilizes a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edweek.org\/edweek\/rick_hess_straight_up\/2020\/01\/the_2020_rhsu_edu-scholar_public_influence_scoring_rubric.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scoring rubric<\/a> to identify education policy scholars who excel in nine categories, including disciplinary scholarship, policy analysis and popular writing, convening and shepherding collaborations, providing media commentary, and public speaking. RHSU explains that its rankings \u201creflect, in roughly equal parts, the influence of a scholar&#8217;s academic scholarship and their influence on public debate as reflected in old and new media.\u201d The goal of the effort is to spur discussion about the nature of responsible public engagement.<\/p>\n<p>The 2020 rankings include prominent scholars in education, with faculty from Harvard and Stanford topping the list. Begin featured on the list of 200 scholars is a significant accomplishment, as nearly 20,000 university-based faculty qualify for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to be listed among such distinguished scholars and educators, and I\u2019m pleased this national recognition will help to highlight that meaningful work being done by our faculty here in Chapman University\u2019s Attallah
