After more than three decades at Chapman University<\/a>, Dr. Michael Fahy<\/a> is officially retiring\u2014and what a legacy he leaves behind.<\/p>\n

In the past, Dr. Fahy has worked with a multitude of students and faculty. Here he is pictured working with Dr. Erik Linstead ’01.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It\u2019s hard to put into words just how much of an impact Dr. Fahy has had. Throughout his 36 years at Chapman, he played a significant role in shaping the university\u2019s computing infrastructure, academic programs, and student experiences. If you\u2019ve ever used a Chapman email address, you\u2019ve benefited from his work\u2014he registered chapman.edu<\/a> and helped set up our very first campus network, email system, and web server.<\/p>\n

But Dr. Fahy’s contributions weren’t just technical. He served as the Chapman Fowler School of Engineering<\/a>‘s CTO and Associate Dean and helped build and create the school. He taught more than two dozen courses, advised our IEEE student club, and created the first IEEE Intercollegiate Computer Game Showcase with IEEE GameSIG and hosted it at Chapman University.<\/p>\n

Whether you knew Dr. Fahy as a colleague, professor, mentor, or friend, one thing is clear\u2014his impact on the Chapman community will be felt for years to come.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fahy, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and contributions to Chapman. Wishing you the very best in your retirement!<\/p>\n
