Candidates for this award must be enrolled in the MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science program,\u00a0pursuing\u00a0the thesis\u00a0track,\u00a0and\u00a0developing\u00a0research with ideas that advance\u00a0the fields of\u00a0engineering and computer science.\u00a0This marks the third year the Fowler School of Engineering has offered the Nachman Family Innovation Challenge.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">Congratulations<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0to<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0Maha Bhatti \u201827 and<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">Jonathan Terbush<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0\u201827<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">!<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0Each<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0candidate presented their research<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW194542236 BCX0\">\u00a0and presented data to an esteemed panel of judges through a competitive \u201cShark Tank\u201d style model.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW194542236 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe Nachman Innovation award will cover a significant portion of my academic fees, allowing me to spend more time focusing on this project and producing original, substantial work,\u201d shared Terbush.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Terbush\u2019s,\u00a0research\u00a0seeks\u00a0to address the rapidly increasing energy demands of AI models via contribution to and development of low-power computational hardware.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bhatti\u2019s research\u00a0goals\u00a0are\u00a0to make early-stage system design space exploration faster, and more efficient.
