A considerable amount of water is wasted daily in industries such as agriculture and landscaping, primarily due to insufficient information and suboptimal water management practices. To address this issue, we aimed to developed a comprehensive solution aimed at minimizing water wastage in these sectors. We aimed to build a real-time data collection system that provides valuable analysis and intelligent automation. The solution is made up of fully remote and independent sensors that monitor soil moisture wherever planted, and communicate the collected information (in real time through a backend system) to a platform, where the soil moisture data can be analyzed and utilized. Throughout the development process, we encountered numerous complexities and roadblocks that impeded our progress. However, by adapting and pivoting our approach, we successfully overcame these challenges. As a result, we have produced a working prototype that demonstrates significant progress.
