Anna Leahy, Ph.D., associate professor of English, is quoted by Orange County Register science and environment writer Pat Brennan in his July 1 column reflecting on the legacy of NASA’s space shuttle program.

In the article titled “With final flight, shuttles soar into history,” Leahy says that despite its tragic accidents, the shuttle program accomplished much. The story can be found at the
Orange County Register.

Leahy and her husband, Leatherby Libraries associate librarian Douglas Dechow, Ph.D., write
Lofty Ambitions
, a blog about aerospace, aviation history and related issues. In the spring 2011 issue of
Chapman Magazine
they recount an earlier pilgrimage to Florida to see the launch of the shuttle
