Cooperatively managed with other federal, state, local government, universities, and private interests, the primary purpose of the Monument is to protect important biological and geological values. The islands, rocks, reefs, and pinnacles provide forage and breeding grounds for significant populations of birds and sea mammals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blm.gov\/pgdata\/content\/ca\/en\/prog\/blm_special_areas\/nm\/ccnm.html\">California Coastal National Monument<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Note: This episode was released across Public Broadcasting Service&#8217;s (PBS) affiliated stations in California, but not necessarily on the same day for each station.
